What is Role Association?

Role Association is when you take a movie and replace its characters with characters that the actors played in other movies. Here is an example. Has anyone seen the 2005 superhero thriller film Batman Begins? It's one of my favourite movies of all time. In that film, Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale in American Psycho) seeks Qui-Gon Jinn's (Liam Neeson in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace) guidance to learn how to fight injustice. When he learns that Qui-Gon plans to destroy his city, believing it to be beyond saving, Patrick returns home, where he becomes a costumed vigilante, teaming up with Commissioner Sirius Black (Gary Oldman in Harry Potter), God (Morgan Freeman in Bruce Almighty), the CEO of his father's company, and his butler, Nigel Powers (Michael Caine in Austin Powers in Goldmember), to save his city (and childhood friend Joey Potter (Katie Holmes in Dawson's Creek)) from a terrorist attack. Are you impressed with my way of thinking? Maybe you should try it.

  1. In one of my favorite movies, Forrest Gump is jealous of Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor and attempts to get rid of him, but they end up both getting lost! With help from Billy Sherbet and Cliff Clavin, they eventually make their way home.
