Did you know that Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl  is a ripoff of John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China ? Let me tell you why. After his love (Miao Yin; Elizabeth Swann) is abducted by an evil immortal (David Lo Pan; Captain Hector Barbossa), a young man (Wang Chi; Will Turner) teams up with a man named Jack (Jack Burton; Jack Sparrow) to rescue her. The two main characters compete against each other when they first meet (Burton and Wang play fan-tan, a Chinese gambling game; Will and Sparrow engage in a swordfight). Jack's mind is set on reclaiming his vehicle (Porkchop Express; Black Pearl) after it is stolen by a legendary villain (Lo Pan steals the Porkchop Express after Jack accidentally runs him over; Sparrow's crew mutinied against him and marooned him on an island). Peter Jackson's The Hobbit  trilogy are three of my favourite movies. This is how I see them. Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman, Sherlock ) goes on a journey with Magneto (Ian McKellen, X-Men ) and thirteen other guys (some of whom are Guy of Gisborne (Richard Armitage, Robin Hood ), Zoran Lazarević (voice of Graham McTavish, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves ), John Mitchell (Aidan Turner, Being Human ), and Dr. Tom Jackman (James Nesbitt, Jekyll )) to steal back their gold from the dragon Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock ) while being menaced by Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett, Arrow ). Mycroft Holmes (Stephen Fry, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows ) is a greedy, incompetent village leader (Zeus (Luke Evans, Immortals ) is a more competent one, though a lot less funny). Also starring Bruce (voice of Barry Humphries, Finding Nemo ), Kate Austen (Evangeline Lilly, Lost ), and Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace, Guardians of the Galaxy ).

Hercules  is my favourite Disney film. It's about a young man who trains to become a legendary hero to please his godly father. This is my cast for a live-action version of that awesome movie. 12 Years a Slave  is a phenomenal movie. This is how I see it. Free African-American man Lola (Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kinky Boots ) is kidnapped, drugged, and sold into slavery by Mr. X (Paul Giamatti, The Nanny Diaries ). His masters include the kind Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock ), whose assistant is Eli Sunday (Paul Dano, There Will Be Blood ), and the vicious Magneto (Michael Fassbender, X-Men: First Class ), who is married to Lana Banana (Sarah Paulson, American Horror Story ) and has a crush on Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong'o, Star Wars ), but has a terrible way of professing his love for her. This goes on for twelve years before Canadian Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt, Fight Club ) rescues him.

Kingsman: The Secret Service  is an action spy comedy that my sister saw at camp. This is how I see it. King George VI (Colin Firth, The King's Speech ) trains Johnny (voice of Taron Egerton, Sing ), a young prospect. Also starring Mace Windu , Luke Skywalker (Samuel L. Jackson and Mark Hamill, Star Wars ), Harry Brown (Michael Caine, Harry Brown ), and Frank D'Amico (Mark Strong, Kick-Ass ).
