Power Rangers vs. Man of Steel

When I saw Power Rangers, I nicknamed the movie "Teens of Steel", due to its plot being the exact same as the 2013 superhero film Man of Steel. Let me tell you why.

Long ago, a wise alien leader (Jor-El/Zordon) fought and was killed by a former ally (General Zod/Rita Repulsa), right before the planet (Krypton/Earth during the Cenozoic era) was destroyed in an apocalyptic explosion (Krypton was destabilizing due to excessive mining of the planet's core/Zordon ordered his robot assistant, Alpha 5, to perform a meteor strike, destroying all life on Earth including himself). In the present day, a social outcast (Clark Kent/Jason Lee Scott) discovers a downed spaceship in an isolated area (reporter Lois Lane, accompanied by Clark, investigates the discovery of a Kryptonian scout ship in the Canadian Arctic/Billy Cranston, a fellow detention student, offers to remove Jason's ankle monitor in exchange for help at an old gold mine, inadvertently discovering Zordon's ship in the process). While exploring the ship, the heroes activate an artificial intelligence system containing the preserved consciousness of the fallen leader (Clark activates the ship's central computer using a key, awakening Jor-El/Jason, Billy, their detention-mate Kimberly Hart, and two other teens unearth the Power Coins, awakening Zordon), who informs them of their destiny to protect humanity (Jor-El tells Clark that his real name is Kal-El, his son, and presents him with a uniform bearing his family's symbol/Zordon and Alpha inform the teenagers of the Power Rangers' history and Rita, and tell them that they have 11 days to get into the game before the space witch rises again). Meanwhile, the villain resurfaces after years of inactivity (Zod, having been banished to the Phantom Zone along with his followers, intercepts a transmission from the scout ship/some fishermen unwittingly recover Rita, and she kills them upon waking up) and orders the locals to surrender the heroes (deducing that Kal-El is nearby, Zod and his followers broadcast a global address, ordering him to surrender or risk war/Rita forces Trini, the Yellow Ranger, to bring the other Rangers to the docks, where she is gleefully waiting for them) in order to obtain information vital to his/her plan (Zod extracts Clark's Kryptonian genes in order to turn Earth into a new Krypton/Rita tortures the Rangers for the location for the Zeo Crystal, killing Billy after he tells her that it's located at Krispy Kreme). At the climax, the heroes battle and defeat the villain's forces (Clark, under the codename "Superman," destroys Zod's terraforming machine and sends his followers to the Phantom Zone/Zordon, after seeing the extent of the Rangers' newfound friendship, revives Billy, and the Rangers engage in an all-out battle with Rita, destroying her army), enraging him/her to the point where he/she violently tries to kill some nearby humans (with Krypton's only hope for revival gone, Zod vows to destroy Earth and its inhabitants/Rita orders her minion, Goldar, to push the Rangers into a fiery pit). However, the heroes have other ideas (Superman and Zod engage in a destructive battle, destroying downtown Metropolis/the Rangers' Zords merge into the Megazord, which they use to defeat Rita, who had merged with Goldar), and kill the villain before he/she can cause any further harm (Superman snaps Zod's neck to save an innocent family/the Megazord slaps Rita into space after she rejects Jason's offer to surrender). In the end, the heroes return to their normal lives while also keeping their powers (Clark becomes a freelance reporter for the Daily Planet in order to access dangerous situations without attracting attention; the Rangers are praised as local heroes, and resume their civilian lives).

It's the same story!
